TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ first two picks from the 2026 NFL Draft will miss Sunday’s Week Three home game against the Minnesota Vikings at Raymond James Stadium, as outside linebacker Rueben Bain Jr. and linebacker Josiah Trotter were both ruled out due to injuries sustained in Week Two.

Trotter, sidelined with a shoulder injury, leads the Buccaneers with 21 tackles through two games. Bain is out with a groin injury. The pair were Tampa Bay’s top two selections in this year’s draft, making their simultaneous absence a significant blow to the Buccaneers’ defense in the early weeks of the season.

A third defensive player was added to the inactive list under more urgent circumstances: defensive lineman Rakeem Nunez-Roches suffered an ankle injury during pregame warmups and was a late scratch. His absence opens the door for rookie defensive lineman DeMonte Capehart, who is active for the first time and could make his NFL debut Sunday.

The Buccaneers submitted their inactives list at 2:35 p.m. ET, 90 minutes before kickoff. After elevating safety Ifeatu Melifonwu from the practice squad, Tampa Bay carried 54 available players and named six inactive to reach the game-day limit of 48. The full Buccaneers inactive list includes Bain, Trotter, Nunez-Roches, cornerback Ayden Garnes, and guards Luke Haggard and Billy Schrauth.

On the positive side for Tampa Bay, cornerback Jacob Parrish returns after missing one game with a back injury, and wide receiver Jalen McMillan is active for a second consecutive week. McMillan is expected to see an increased snap count after being eased back into action following a month-long recovery from a knee injury.

Minnesota elevated safety Tavierre Thomas and outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy from its practice squad and must name seven players inactive. The Vikings’ list includes quarterback J.J. McCarthy as the third quarterback, safeties Jakobe Thomas and Tavierre Thomas, tackle Caleb Tiernan, cornerback Zemaiah Vaughn, and defensive tackle Elijah Williams. Rookie punter Brett Thorson was also ruled out with a hamstring injury to his kicking leg; the Vikings signed veteran punter Johnny Hekker on Saturday to fill the role. Minnesota created roster space for that move by placing center Nick Samac on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Kickoff at Raymond James Stadium is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET Sunday.
