TAMPA — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the Cleveland Browns at Raymond James Stadium at 1:00 p.m. ET Sunday, with both teams looking to rebound from lopsided Week One losses and rookie linebacker Josiah Trotter emerging as the defensive storyline of the early season.

Trotter became the first player in NFL history to record a pick-six and a sack in his first career game since sacks became an official statistic in 1982. He finished the Week One loss to the Cincinnati Bengals with 10 tackles, including two for a loss, and held Bengals running back Chase Brown to just 3.5 yards per carry. The Bucs fell 33-27 after four Tampa Bay fumbles led to 24 points for Cincinnati.

Cleveland enters the matchup reeling from a 34-10 defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars, a game in which quarterback Deshaun Watson was sacked five times and intercepted once. The Browns boast last season’s fourth-ranked defense, though the unit is without Myles Garrett, who was traded to make way for young pass rusher Jared Verse. Verse, acquired from the Rams along with three draft picks, tallied 80 pressures, 52 hurries and 7.5 sacks in 2025 per PFF. He will face Bucs tackle Tristan Wirfs, an All-Pro at both left and right tackle, in a marquee trench battle.

Receiver Emeka Egbuka led Tampa Bay in Week One with 63 receiving yards on five catches and will draw coverage from Denzel Ward, Cleveland’s five-time Pro Bowl cornerback who has accumulated 18 career interceptions and 104 pass breakups. Ward posted five tackles and a forced fumble against the Jaguars.

The Browns’ ground game will lean on Quinshon Judkins, a second-round draft pick in 2025 who rushed 230 times for 827 yards and seven touchdowns last season, adding 26 catches for 171 yards. A league-high 45.2% of Judkins’ carries came with eight or more defenders in the box, per Next Gen Stats. Trotter figures to be his primary matchup.

Cornerback Benjamin Morrison, who replaced injured Jacob Parrish in Week One, allowed just 34 receiving yards on seven targets and an 81.8 passer rating when targeted — the fourth-lowest among cornerbacks with seven-plus targets. He will be tasked with containing Browns rookie receiver KC Concepcion, a second-round pick. Running back Bucky Irving, meanwhile, posted 93 yards from scrimmage including a 10-yard touchdown against Cincinnati, serving as Baker Mayfield’s primary checkdown option. He will face Browns linebacker Carson Schwesinger, the 2025 Defensive Rookie of the Year who finished with 156 tackles, 2.5 sacks and two interceptions in 16 games, including seven straight games with double-digit tackles.

Kickoff Sunday is set for 1:00 p.m. ET, broadcast locally on CBS.
