TAMPA - Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Benjamin Morrison says the secondary must be physical and disciplined to contain Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who brings a Hall of Fame-caliber resume into Raymond James Stadium for a 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday.

“He is one of the best in the game right now for a reason,” Morrison said. “It is proven. You turn on film and the ball finds him. He splits double teams and it looks smooth for him, so we have to be on our P’s and Q’s and make sure that we are executing the ball right and playing to our leverage to be able to have a successful day on Sunday.”

Jefferson owns the NFL records for most receptions (324) and most receiving yards (4,825) in a player’s first three seasons. He reached 30 career 100-yard receiving games in just 62 games, the fastest in NFL history, surpassing Lance Alworth’s mark of 64 games. Through Week 17 of the 2025 season, Jefferson’s 8,379 career receiving yards eclipsed Randy Moss’s 8,375 for the most by any player in his first six NFL seasons. His 1,048 receiving yards in 2025 made him just the third player in NFL history to top 1,000 yards in each of his first six seasons, joining Moss and Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans. He also joined Cris Carter and Moss as the only Vikings with at least six 1,000-yard seasons in franchise history. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Jefferson has generated 1,478 receiving yards over expected since entering the league in 2020, second in the NFL in that span behind Ja’Marr Chase.

Morrison identified Jefferson’s catch radius as the defining challenge. “I think it is his catch radius and fearlessness,” he said. “He is able to make the spectacular catches when there are two people on him and his catch radius is remarkable so understanding that and at the point of attack, have to make sure that you are physical so we can come down with the ball.”

Morrison, Zyon McCollum and Jacob Parrish - who was a full participant in practice Wednesday - form the trio expected to shadow Jefferson across the formation. The same three defenders held Chase to just 12 yards on two receptions in the Bucs’ Week 1 game. The undefeated Vikings enter Week 3 as the opponent, and the Buccaneers will need a similar performance from their secondary to keep pace.
