ORLANDO — Striker Daryl Dike will make his first start for Orlando City SC since his first stint with the Lions in 2021, headlining wholesale lineup changes for the club’s final Leagues Cup 2026 Phase One match against Atlético de San Luis at Inter.co Stadium.
Only four players — Zakaria Taifi, Iago, Wilder Cartagena and Marco Pašalić — carry over from Orlando City’s previous starting XI. The remaining seven spots feature fresh faces, including Orlando City B midfielder Nacho Gomez, who earned a start in the midfield alongside Cartagena.
The full starting lineup reads: Javier Otero in goal; Taifi, Colin Guske, Iago and Adrián Marín across the back; Harvey Sarajian, Cartagena, Gomez and Tiago in midfield; Pašalić and Dike up top.
Many of Orlando City’s regular starters will be available off the bench for the second half. The substitutes list includes star forward Antoine Griezmann, goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau, defender Robin Jansson and winger Iván Angulo. Also available are David Brekalo, Gustavo Caraballo, Griffin Dorsey, Justin Ellis, Joran Gerbet, Issah Haruna, Tristan Himes and Tyrese Spicer.
Dike’s return to the starting lineup is the most notable storyline. The striker previously played for Orlando City before departing and has not started a match for the club since 2021. His inclusion signals the Lions are using the Phase One finale to rotate the squad while giving Dike competitive minutes.
The match at Inter.co Stadium in Orlando closes out Phase One of the Leagues Cup, the cross-border tournament between MLS and Liga MX clubs. Results will determine which teams advance to the knockout rounds.
