Six Florida supermarkets will convert from Harveys Supermarket to Winn-Dixie stores as part of a seven-location brand transformation announced this week by The Winn-Dixie Company. The conversions span multiple Florida cities including Jacksonville, Lake City, Ocala and Lakeland, with one additional location in Folkston, Georgia.

“For more than a century, Winn-Dixie and Harveys have earned the trust of families and communities across our region,” said Anthony Hucker, CEO of The Winn-Dixie Company. “Bringing our stores together under one iconic name, Winn-Dixie, allows us to build on that shared legacy while continuing to invest in our stores, our associates and the quality, value and fresh offerings our customers count on.”

The Florida locations scheduled for conversion include two Jacksonville stores at 5909 University Blvd. W. and 5250 Moncrief Road W., along with stores in Lake City at 4506 SW Heritage Oaks Circle and Ocala at 3435 N. Pine Ave. Two Lakeland locations will also transition: one at 2630 US Highway 92 and another at 1305 Ariana Street W.

“The conversions mark another step forward in the company’s evolution to The Winn-Dixie Company, reflecting a sharpened focus on growing the Winn-Dixie brand and delivering a more unified grocery experience for customers,” according to the company’s announcement. The converted stores will feature Winn-Dixie’s new look while stocking Own Brand products, prepared foods and the grocer’s signature “Lip Lickin’ Chicken” in the deli section.

Winn-Dixie has operated as a major southeastern grocery chain since 1925, when founder William Davis borrowed $10,000 from his father and moved to Miami to purchase the Rockmoor Grocery. The company adopted its current name in 1955 following a merger with the 116-store Dixie-Home Stores chain based in Greenville, South Carolina. The Jacksonville-based company now serves communities throughout five southeastern states including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi.

Harveys Rewards customers can transfer their existing points to the Winn-Dixie Rewards app, where they can access weekly digital deals, planning tools and savings that convert rewards into dollars off groceries. Customers need only download the Winn-Dixie app and enter their phone number with no new sign-up required, according to company officials.

The company has not provided specific dates for when the conversions will take place, stating it will release more updates as the transformation continues. This brand consolidation represents part of Winn-Dixie’s broader strategy to unify its grocery operations under a single trusted name while maintaining its focus on fresh offerings and community service.
