SUNRISE — The Florida Panthers unveiled a new center ice logo at Amerant Bank Arena on Thursday, swapping the traditional shield design for an aggressive panther head as the franchise looks to reset after missing the playoffs last season.

The redesign marks a sharp departure from the past two seasons, when the Panthers commemorated back-to-back Stanley Cup championships with their center ice artwork, Florida Hockey Now reported. The new logo incorporates the team’s panther head and features stripes that appear to be a direct nod to the team’s leaked “pink lemonade” Hometown Remix jersey. The center ice version uses the Panthers’ traditional color scheme rather than the pink palette of the rumored alternate sweater.

The Panthers had earned the right to celebrate at center ice — consecutive Stanley Cup titles gave the franchise its greatest sustained run in its history. But a disappointing follow-up campaign that ended short of the postseason has clearly prompted a new visual identity to match a new competitive mindset. No word yet on the pink jerseys.

Fans will get their first look at the new ice surface Sunday when the Panthers host the Carolina Hurricanes at 7 p.m. in the first exhibition game of the preseason. Open practices are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Fort Lauderdale as training camp continues.

The 2026-27 NHL regular season opener sends the Panthers to Carolina on Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. on ESPN. Florida’s home opener at Amerant Bank Arena is set for Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. against the Minnesota Wild.
