FORT LAUDERDALE - Inter Miami CF announced the full coaching staff that will work alongside head coach Cristian González, the 52-year-old Argentine who opened his tenure by guiding the club to a 2-0 victory over LIGA MX side Cruz Azul in the 2026 Michelob ULTRA Campeones Cup title match.
González, born in Rosario, Argentina, previously managed CA Rosario Central from 2020 to 2022, CA Unión de Santa Fe from 2023 to 2025, and CA Platense in 2025 before taking the Inter Miami job. His Campeones Cup win in his first match marked a milestone in club history.
The staff González assembled is heavily drawn from his previous stops in South American football. Assistant coaches Tomás Costa and Ricardo de Alberto both worked alongside González at Rosario Central and CA Unión de Santa Fe. De Alberto, born in Arteaga, Argentina, also joined González at CA Platense and makes his first professional coaching move outside Argentina with the Inter Miami appointment. Costa, born in Rosario in 1985, brings a playing career that spanned clubs in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, as well as FC Porto in Portugal and CFR Cluj in Romania.
Physical trainer Damián Hernandez, born in Rosario in 1984, rounds out the Argentine contingent with previous stints at Rosario Central, CA Unión de Santa Fe, CA Platense and most recently Universidad Técnica de Cajamarca in Peru’s First Division. Goalkeeping coach Ignacio Don, born in Selva, Argentina, brings a playing career that included stints in Chile and Paraguay with clubs including Huachipato FC, Club Nacional de Asunción, Cerro Porteño and Libertad.
The two video analysts on staff offer a contrast in backgrounds. Tomás Anastasi, 27, worked alongside González at Rosario Central from 2019 through 2024, then moved to Racing Club from 2024 to 2025 and Uruguayan side Montevideo City Torque in 2026. Erik Marquis, a Venezuelan national, is the lone holdover from the previous Inter Miami staff, entering his third consecutive year with the club. Marquis joined Inter Miami in 2023 as part of the MLS NEXT Pro affiliate Inter Miami CF II and previously served as Performance Analyst for the LA Galaxy from 2020 to 2021 and Atlanta United FC from 2021 to 2022.
Inter Miami’s first MLS regular-season match under González’s full staff is expected to follow the club’s preseason schedule, with the 2026 MLS season already underway.
