CINCINNATI — Inter Miami CF II’s winless season stretched to 14 matches after a 1-0 road loss to FC Cincinnati 2, with the lone goal coming in first-half stoppage time on a converted corner kick.

Inter Miami II, now 0-10-4 with 5 points on the season, controlled Cincinnati’s early pressure before FC Cincinnati 2 forward Cheikhou Niang headed home an in-swinging corner in the second minute of three added first-half minutes. The goal gave the hosts a 1-0 lead they would not relinquish.

Head coach staff sent Inter Miami II out with captain Tyler Hall anchoring a back five that included Theo Vorenkamp, Daniel Sumalla, Matteo De Paula and Sloan Morrison, with Matias Marin in goal. Idoh Zeltzer-Zubida, Ian Urkidi and Alejandro Flores started in midfield, while Diego Rey and Jerremy Ortela led the attack.

Inter Miami came out with sharper attacking intent after halftime following a series of substitutions. Morrison unleashed a powerful strike from 35 yards that rattled the crossbar in the 75th minute, producing one of the club’s best chances of the evening.

Deep into stoppage time, second-half substitute Matías Acevedo dribbled past multiple Cincinnati defenders before slipping a pass to Zidane Cadet, who found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper. The FC Cincinnati 2 keeper came up with a crucial save to preserve the shutout, and Inter Miami was unable to find an equalizer before the final whistle.

Inter Miami II will visit Chattanooga FC next Saturday at Erlanger Park, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
