HARRISON, N.J. - Inter Miami CF dropped a 2-0 decision to Red Bull New York on Saturday at Sports Illustrated Stadium, a result that leaves the club at 15W-6L-10D and 55 points in the MLS regular season standings despite controlling the ball for most of the afternoon.

Inter Miami held 62.5% possession to New York’s 37.5% but were outshot 19-13 and could not convert their chances. Goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair was forced into six saves on the day, compared to just two for the Red Bulls’ goalkeeper.

Red Bull New York opened the scoring in the seventh minute through an Inter Miami own goal, sending the home side into halftime with a 1-0 lead. The closest Inter Miami came to an equalizer was in the 84th minute, when second-half substitute Santiago Morales drew a save from the RBNY goalkeeper, and fellow substitute Telasco Segovia followed with a powerful right-footed strike that rattled the crossbar. New York sealed the result with a second goal in the first minute of stoppage time.

Captain Luis Suárez led the attack alongside Riquelme Fillipi and Germán Berterame, with Rodrigo De Paul, David Ayala, and Matías Galarza starting in midfield. The back four consisted of Gonzalo Luján, Casemiro, Micael, and Sergio Reguilón. Fillipi’s appearance was notable: the club confirmed it was his first start as an Inter Miami player.

Inter Miami return home to host FC Cincinnati at Nu Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
