NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Inter Miami CF surrendered three goals in 14 second-half minutes and fell 4-1 to Nashville SC at GEODIS Park, the club’s worst defeat of the MLS regular season despite holding 54% possession and pulling level before halftime.
Midfielder Telasco Segovia scored his third goal of the regular season in the third minute of first-half stoppage time to equalize 1-1, finishing a feed from captain Leo Messi by dancing around defenders on the left side of the box and curling the ball to the far post. The strike appeared to shift momentum heading into the break after Inter Miami had a penalty attempt saved by Nashville’s goalkeeper in the 23rd minute.
Nashville opened the scoring in the 17th minute and then broke the match open after halftime with goals in the 49th, 56th and 63rd minutes to reach the 4-1 final. Inter Miami managed 16 shots to Nashville’s 18 but won just 4 corners compared to Nashville’s 10 and committed only 9 fouls to the hosts’ 15.
Inter Miami (11W-3L-5D, 38 points) started Rocco Ríos Novo in goal behind a back four of Facundo Mura, Ian Fray, Gonzalo Luján and Sergio Reguilón. Yannick Bright, Casemiro and Rodrigo De Paul lined up in midfield, with Messi, Luis Suárez and Segovia leading the attack. Both goalkeepers recorded 4 saves apiece.
The loss is Inter Miami’s third of the season and snaps any momentum the club carried into its current road swing. Nashville’s 10 corners reflected sustained pressure on set pieces that Inter Miami’s defense could not contain across the second 45 minutes.
