FORT LAUDERDALE - Inter Miami CF attacker Mateo Silvetti, 20, has been named 14th on Major League Soccer’s 2026 22 Under 22 list, a ranking of the league’s top young players voted on by MLS coaches, general managers, sporting directors, Apple TV talent and select media.

Silvetti appeared in 17 matches across all competitions this year, 14 of them in the 2026 MLS regular season, before a season-ending injury cut his campaign short at the start of September. In regular season play, the Argentine winger contributed three goals and four assists before his exit.

The recognition follows a breakout postseason run in 2025, when Silvetti joined Inter Miami in August and helped the club clinch the 2025 Audi MLS Cup. In six playoff appearances, he tallied two goals and three assists, including goals in the Eastern Conference Semifinals against FC Cincinnati and the Eastern Conference Final against New York City FC.

A native of Rosario, Argentina, Silvetti came to Inter Miami from Newell’s Old Boys, where he developed through the youth academy and made his professional debut in 2024. He made 37 appearances across all competitions for Newell’s, recording six goals and two assists before his move to South Florida.

On the international stage, Silvetti has made nine appearances for Argentina’s U-20 national team since his 2024 debut, scoring four goals and adding an assist. Inter Miami has not announced a timeline for his return from the season-ending injury heading into the 2027 campaign.
