FORT LAUDERDALE - Nine Inter Miami CF players have earned national team call-ups for the summer FIFA international window, with captain Leo Messi and midfielder Rodrigo De Paul joining Argentina for the country’s final preparation matches before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Messi and De Paul will suit up for La Albiceleste against Honduras on June 6 at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, and against Iceland on June 9 at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama. Inter Miami Homegrown midfielder David Ruiz will be on the opposing side for Honduras in the June 6 match, setting up a club-teammate showdown in College Station.
Goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair will join Canada for its own World Cup tune-ups against Uzbekistan at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton and the Republic of Ireland at Stade Saputo in Montreal. Midfielder Telasco Segovia earned a call-up from Venezuela, which will play Turkey on June 6 at Inter Miami CF Stadium before facing Iraq on June 9 at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois.
The call-ups extend beyond the senior level. Israel Boatwright will represent the Dominican Republic U-21 in a training camp ahead of the Central American and Caribbean Games, which the Dominican Republic will host from July 24 to August 8. Academy products Santiago Morales and Daniel Pinter will join the U.S. U-19 national team for a training camp in Fayetteville, Georgia, where they will face Japan on June 9 as preparations continue for this summer’s Concacaf U-20 Championship.
Homegrown midfielder Alexander Shaw rounds out the nine, earning a call-up to the U.S. U-18 national team for a training camp in Oliva, Spain from June 1 to 9. Shaw’s squad will play friendlies against Sweden U-18 on June 5 and Qatar U-19 on June 8, with both matches kicking off at 11 a.m. ET.
The international window will temporarily thin Inter Miami’s roster during the MLS season, but the volume of call-ups — spanning five countries and three age levels — reflects the depth the South Florida club has built across its senior squad and academy pipeline. Venezuela’s friendly against Turkey on June 6 at Inter Miami CF Stadium will bring international competition directly to the club’s home facility.
