FORT LAUDERDALE — Inter Miami CF signed Brazilian international midfielder Casemiro, a five-time UEFA Champions League winner, as a free agent, the club announced. The deal runs through the conclusion of the 2027 MLS Sprint Season, with an extension option until June 2029.
Casemiro, who made his professional debut at 18 years old in 2010 with São Paulo FC, arrives in South Florida after three seasons with English Premier League side Manchester United, where he made 160 appearances, tallied 26 goals and 14 assists, and helped the club secure an English League Cup and an FA Cup title. The signing is pending receipt of his P-1 Visa. Inter Miami acquired Casemiro’s Discover Priority from the LA Galaxy.
“What motivates me the most, and I think this is true for every player, is winning and continuing to grow. Co-Owner David Beckham, who played alongside top-tier talent during his own career, endorsed the move. “I’m very proud to welcome Casemiro and his family to Inter Miami. He is a winner who has achieved so much in the game and after such an incredible career with Real Madrid and Manchester United I’m delighted that he’s decided to make Miami his next home,” Beckham said.
Casemiro’s trophy haul is staggering. During a historic eight-year run with Real Madrid CF after joining in 2013, he won five UEFA Champions League titles, three UEFA Super Cups, three FIFA Club World Cups, three LaLiga championships, one Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups — 18 major trophies in all. Across 336 appearances with Real Madrid’s first team, he recorded 31 goals and 29 assists. He spent the 2014-15 campaign on loan with Portuguese side FC Porto before cementing his role in Madrid’s midfield.
On the international stage, Casemiro has earned 91 caps for Brazil, helping the Seleção capture the 2019 Copa América title and representing the nation at the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups. He most recently featured at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, starting each of Brazil’s five matches while contributing a goal in the Round of 32 and an assist in the Round of 16.
Casemiro is expected to join Inter Miami’s squad upon receipt of his visa, with the club continuing its push through the current MLS season at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
