JACKSONVILLE — Offensive tackle Anton Harrison emerged as the standout performer during the Jacksonville Jaguars’ first padded practice of 2026 training camp, winning pass-rush reps against top defenders and drawing praise from Head Coach Liam Coen after the 90-minute session at the Miller Electric Center.
Harrison, who started camp at right tackle, has worked at left tackle for three consecutive days and showed no signs of displacement. He won one-on-one reps against defensive ends Josh Hines-Allen and Danny Striggow during the session’s pass-rush drills. “He has done a nice job,” Coen said. “It’s part of what we have done, moving those guys around and seeing what sticks. If that ends up sticking, hopefully that’s a good thing for us. He has put together five good practices so far.”
Harrison’s move to the left side — where he starred at Oklahoma — opens options at right tackle, where Chuma Edoga and Walker Little both took reps. Cole Van Lanen also has experience on the right side, giving the Jaguars depth at the position.
The padded session also featured a highlight-reel day from wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., who hauled in a one-handed catch deep down the right sideline in tight coverage by cornerback Montaric Brown on a throw from quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Wide receivers Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington also made multiple plays, and veteran running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. — a 2026 free-agent signing — turned in several physical runs. Cornerback Jourdan Lewis offered a blunt assessment of the defense’s day: “We got our head kicked in today.”
Defensive tackle Arik Armstead turned in an impressive rep against guard Ezra Cleveland during pass-rush drills, and defensive end Travon Walker registered wins against both tackles and guards. Coen moved the pass-rush period to the end zones in front of fans, a decision observers noted signaled the type of physical team the second-year head coach wants to build.
Steady rain early in the session forced quarterbacks and receivers to work in slick conditions, which Coen called a positive. Lawrence connected with Washington and Thomas on clutch third-down conversions during the competitive “Mamba” period, including a perfectly placed throw over Thomas’s shoulder with a defender draped on him.
The Jaguars are scheduled to practice in pads again Tuesday before a players’ day off Wednesday as they build toward joint practices later in training camp.
