JACKSONVILLE — Trevor Lawrence threw four touchdown passes to four different receivers and the Jaguars’ defense forced two turnovers as Jacksonville opened its 2026 regular season with a dominant 34-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns at EverBank Stadium.
Lawrence completed 18 of 23 passes for 245 yards with no interceptions and a passer rating of 150.6 before exiting with the Jaguars leading 34-3 with 8:12 remaining. He became the second quarterback in franchise history to throw touchdowns to four different receivers in a single game, joining Blake Bortles, who accomplished the feat in a September 2018 victory over the New England Patriots.
Wide receiver Parker Washington set the tone early, hauling in a 30-yard diving touchdown on the Jaguars’ first possession to give Jacksonville a 7-0 lead. Washington finished with five catches for 83 yards. Rookie wide receiver Josh Cameron caught a 4-yard scoring pass, tight end Brenton Strange added a 14-yard touchdown reception and wide receiver Jakobi Meyers hauled in a 32-yard score on the first drive of the second half to push the lead to 31-0.
The Jaguars scored on their first four possessions and led 24-0 at halftime — a franchise record for most first-half points in a regular-season opener. Jacksonville won its regular-season opener for a second consecutive season.
The defense was equally dominant. Linebacker Foye Oluokun’s first-quarter interception at the Jaguars 19 snuffed out Cleveland’s opening drive and set up Washington’s touchdown. Defensive end Josh Hines-Allen registered two sacks and recovered a second-quarter fumble by Browns wide receiver K.C. Concepcion that led to Strange’s score. Defensive end Travon Walker, linebacker Ventrell Miller and linebacker Branson Combs each added a sack as Jacksonville held Cleveland to 272 total yards and 14 first downs.
Second-year running back Bhayshul Tuten rushed for 66 yards on 15 carries as the Jaguars outrushed the Browns 127-87 and outgained them 360-272 with 23 first downs to Cleveland’s 14. Kicker Cam Little connected on field goals of 47 and 40 yards. Cleveland’s lone touchdown came on a 46-yard reception by wide receiver Denzel Boston from quarterback Deshaun Watson with 1:52 remaining.
Second-year running back LeQuint Allen Jr. was active after being listed as questionable with a hip injury. Six players were inactive: quarterback Quinn Ewers, rookie tight end Tanner Koziol, offensive lineman Daniel Faalele, rookie defensive end Wesley Williams, rookie defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr. and rookie safety Jalen Huskey. Defensive end B.J. Green II sustained an elbow injury in the first quarter and did not return, while wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. sustained a shoulder injury in the second quarter but returned to action.
