JACKSONVILLE - The AFC South-leading Jacksonville Jaguars will host the New England Patriots at EverBank Stadium Sunday at 1 p.m., with head coach Liam Coen saying a focused week of practice at the Miller Electric Center has the 1-1 club pointed in the right direction heading into the Week 3 matchup against the defending AFC Champions.
“I think there were definitely some intentional improvements,” Coen said Friday. The Patriots enter Sunday also at 1-1.
Coen has leaned on an inward focus this week, steering his staff and players away from opponent fixation and back toward execution. “As you continue to go in the game planning, it’s reminding the guys that we have seen every single route, concept, play another team can run,” Coen said. “We have seen all throughout this spring; we have seen all throughout training camp against each other. And so to not overanalyze things that, yes, it’s preparation and different teams do different things different ways, but at the end of the day, it’s about the fundamentals and techniques and tackling and communication and being at the right spot and knowing your stuff.”
The Jaguars carry significant home-field momentum into Sunday. Jacksonville has won five consecutive regular-season home games dating to November 16, 2025, a stretch during which the team set multiple franchise records for any five-game home span: 192 points scored, a plus-132 point differential, and 24 total touchdowns.
“Not as much always worrying about the opponent,” Coen said of the week’s reset. “That’s been a kind of a reminder that I think has helped reset us a little bit this week in all three phases. It is so much more about us. It truly is.”
The Jaguars will be without at least one player Sunday. Rookie defensive tackle Albert Regis was added to the final injury report Friday with an elbow injury and is listed as doubtful. Six other players - running back LeQuint Allen Jr. (hip), wide receiver Jakobi Meyers (thumb), right tackle Cole Van Lanen (knee), center Robert Hainsey (elbow/groin), nose tackle DaVon Hamilton (back) and cornerback Christian Braswell (knee) - were listed without a game status designation and are expected to be available for kickoff.
