JACKSONVILLE — Third-round rookie Emmanuel Pregnon has secured a starting role at left guard for the Jacksonville Jaguars, capping a training camp in which the offensive line cycled through multiple combinations before settling on a consistent five-man front.

The Jaguars wrapped their 2026 camp with a 90-minute light-padded joint practice against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Miller Electric Center. For much of the past week, the same starting five have worked together: left tackle Anton Harrison, Pregnon at left guard, center Robert Hainsey, right guard Ezra Cleveland and right tackle Walker Little.

“The progress is certainly exciting,” Jaguars Offensive Coordinator Grant Udinski said after the final practice. “You’re never satisfied, you’re never necessarily content with it, but it’s really enjoyable to see those guys progress in their communication and chemistry working together — whether it’s in the protection game, picking up twist games, or whether it’s in the run game identifying different fronts.”

Pregnon entered camp as a backup but has worked with the starters in each recent practice, including joint sessions against the Carolina Panthers and Buccaneers. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence offered an emphatic endorsement of the rookie.

“He has done an awesome job,” Lawrence said. “He plays hard, he’s huge, he’s strong, you can tell he cares. That’s the first thing you notice. Then mentally, it has not been too much for him. Obviously, he is a rookie and there’s still a lot to learn and there are looks every day that you can teach off of, but he’s not lost at all. He knows what he’s doing.”

Lawrence added: “I think he’s protected well. He’s been moving people in the run game. He’s athletic.”

The line could see another adjustment before the regular season. Cole Van Lanen, expected to work at right tackle upon his return, was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list last week and has participated in individual drills. “Having all those guys ready at different positions is really valuable,” Lawrence said.

Udinski cautioned that the group remains a work in progress. “I don’t know that that progress is ever done because it’s going to be probably a couple different iterations between now and the beginning of the season or even beginning of the season to the end of the season,” he said.

Rookie wide receiver Josh Cameron closed camp with what the team called the most explosive play from either offense during 7-on-7 drills, catching a deep pass from Lawrence down the right sideline and beating Buccaneers cornerback Zyon McCollum at the catch point. Cameron drew a defensive pass interference flag on McCollum on the play. Wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. went through individual periods in a red non-contact jersey and did not take any reps with the offense in the 7-on-7 drills against the Buccaneers’ defense. Backup quarterback Nick Mullens threw red-zone touchdown passes to undrafted rookie wide receiver Trebor Peña and tight end Quintin Morris.

The Jaguars open the 2026 regular season against the Cleveland Browns on September 13 at EverBank Stadium.
