TAMPA - Undrafted rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels made Buccaneers history Sunday, throwing the first touchdown pass by an undrafted rookie quarterback in franchise history as Tampa Bay defeated the Green Bay Packers in Week 4 of the 2026 NFL season.

Daniels connected with Kenny Gainwell on a 10-yard scoring strike for his first career touchdown pass, capping a 12-play, 84-yard drive that stood as the longest of the season for Tampa Bay in both number of plays and total yards. Gainwell, who had not scored this season entering the game, recorded his fifth career receiving touchdown on the play.

Daniels also added 55 rushing yards on the ground, setting a new club record for the most rushing yards in a game by a rookie quarterback. The previous high was 54 yards, set by Parnell Dickinson in Week Two of the 1976 season.

LinebackerJosiah Trotter continued his record-setting start to his Buccaneers career, surpassing 26 tackles through his first three career games - topping the previous mark of 23 set by Antoine Winfield Jr. in 2020 for the most tackles by a Buccaneers player through their first three career games since at least 2000.

Tampa Bay’s defense also came up big in the turnover battle. Defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson forced a fumble inside the Tampa Bay five-yard line - his seventh career forced fumble - and cornerback Zyon McCollum recovered it for his second career fumble recovery. Cornerback Jacob Parrish added an interception of Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love, Parrish’s first pick of the season and the third of his career.

The Buccaneers return to action next week as they look to build on their Week 4 performance.
