MIAMI — The Miami Heat signed forward Keshad Johnson, winner of the 2026 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, to a two-way contract, the team announced. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Johnson becomes the latest Heat player to parlay G League production and a highlight-reel dunk title into a roster spot. He is the third Heat player to win the Slam Dunk Contest, joining Derrick Jones Jr. in 2020 and Harold Miner in 1993 and 1995.
The forward split last season between the Heat and their G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, where he started all eight regular season games and averaged 17.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.88 blocks and 1.50 steals in 35.3 minutes per game. Johnson shot 51.5 percent from the field and 47.1 percent from three-point range with the Skyforce, scoring in double figures in each game, including two 20-point performances. He grabbed double-digit rebounds on four occasions, connected on multiple three-point field goals seven times and blocked multiple shots five times.
With the Heat, Johnson appeared in 32 games last season and averaged 4.3 points and 1.9 rebounds in 8.7 minutes of action while shooting 49 percent from the field. He scored in double figures four times, including a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double on November 21.
The two-way contract allows Johnson to continue shuttling between Miami and Sioux Falls as the Heat build depth heading into the upcoming season.
