FORT LAUDERDALE - Inter Miami CF captain Leo Messi and forward Luis Suárez each earned Major League Soccer Team of the Matchday honors presented by Audi after combining for all four goals in a 4-0 shutout of D.C. United at Nu Stadium on Saturday, the club’s most complete performance of matchday 29 in the 2026 regular season.

Suárez struck first, opening the scoring in the 3rd minute before extending Inter Miami’s lead in the 39th minute to complete a first-half brace. He then set up Messi’s opener with a precise delivery in the 47th minute, giving the Uruguayan striker three goal contributions on the night. Suárez has now totaled 15 goals and nine assists in 24 appearances this league campaign.

Messi converted Suárez’s assist with a first-time, left-footed finish from the center of the box in the 47th minute, then sealed the victory in the 60th minute with what the club described as a brilliant solo effort. The Argentine captain has now scored 23 goals in 25 appearances this regular season and leads the race for the 2026 MLS Golden Boot, while also recording 13 assists.

The TOTM selection marks the 11th time this regular season Messi has earned the honor, while Suárez earns his fifth such selection of the 2026 campaign. The pair’s dominance underscores Inter Miami’s attacking depth heading into the final stretch of the regular season, with the club’s next matchday schedule set to follow.
