MIAMI — The Miami Dolphins have rebranded their long-running Junior Dolphins youth program as the Miami Dolphins Academy, expanding its scope beyond youth football camps to include cheerleading, flag football and international initiatives across three countries.

The rechristened program has engaged more than 2,000 youth athletes and coaches abroad through camps and clinics in Spain, Brazil and Mexico as the franchise pushes the NFL brand on a global scale. Domestically, the Academy continues to serve the South Florida area with year-round programming. “Clinics are centered around the game of football and educational opportunities and are operated year-round,” the organization said.

The rebrand sheds the “Junior” label to reflect a broadened mission that now includes high school athletes and coaches alongside the younger participants who fueled the program’s early growth. “The program will continue to engage high school athletes, coaches and communities in addition to the long-standing youth segments that rapidly grew in popularity throughout the South Florida area,” the Dolphins said.

A centerpiece of the domestic effort is a month-long Girls Flag Football League hosted at the Baptist Health Training Complex. Nearly 600 girls flag players participated in the league in 2026, culminating in a championship event with appearances by Miami Dolphins players. The league provides student athletes a platform for competitive play as the Academy works to expand girls flag football.

“Development remains at the core of the Miami Dolphins Academy,” the organization said. The program recognizes local high school coaches through seasonal Coach of the Week and Coach of the Year awards. For youth participants, camps and clinics are led by Academy Youth Football coaches and members of the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders. “Participants are invited to learn, play and build valuable leadership skills,” the Dolphins said.

The Academy’s international camps in Spain, Brazil and Mexico are expected to continue expanding as the NFL grows its overseas footprint, with the Dolphins projecting additional youth athletes and coaches to be engaged abroad in the coming seasons.
