MIAMI - The Miami Heat signed guard Lester Quiñones, the team announced, adding a proven G League scorer who averaged 23.3 points per game last season and earned All-NBA G League First Team honors with the Osceola Magic.

Quiñones, who was also selected to the NBA G League Next Up Game, started 35 of his 36 regular season games with Osceola last season, averaging 5.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 32.0 minutes per game while shooting 47.7 percent from the field, 41.1 percent from three-point range and 84.1 percent from the foul line. He led the Magic in points, field goals made, three-point field goals made, free throws made and plus/minus, recording 27 games of at least 20 points, including four performances of 30 or more.

The Heat’s G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, acquired Quiñones’ returning rights in a four-team trade on Sept. 26 before Miami moved to sign him to the NBA roster. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Across four G League seasons with Osceola, Laketown and Santa Cruz, Quiñones has appeared in 99 career regular season games - starting 98 - and averaged 22.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.11 steals and 33.2 minutes per game while shooting 45.3 percent from the field, 37.3 percent from three and 77.4 percent from the foul line.

Quiñones is not without NBA experience. He has appeared in 54 career NBA games over three seasons with New Orleans, Philadelphia and Golden State, averaging 4.8 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 11.0 minutes per game.
