MIAMI — The Miami Heat signed guard Ryan Conwell, the second-round pick they acquired in a draft night trade, the team announced. Conwell was selected 37th overall in the 2026 NBA Draft. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Conwell arrives from Louisville, where he started all 34 games as a senior and averaged a team-high 18.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.12 steals and 30.9 minutes per game. He shot 40.8 percent from the field, 34.5 percent from three-point range and 83.2 percent from the foul line — a profile that fits Miami’s longstanding emphasis on perimeter shooting and defensive versatility.

The guard’s senior season at Louisville was a prolific one by any measure. Conwell scored a single-season career-best 638 points and made a single-season best 124 free throws. He connected on a single-season best 112 three-point field goals, finishing among the top 15 in the nation in that category. He tallied 15 20-point games, including two 30-point performances, and led the Cardinals in points, steals, defensive rebounds, field goals made, three-point field goals made, free throws made and minutes.

Conwell finished his collegiate career with 1,991 total points and earned All-ACC Second Team and NABC All-District Second Team honors as a senior. He will wear No. 7 for the Heat.

The Heat open summer league play later this month in Las Vegas, where Conwell is expected to get his first opportunity to compete for a rotation spot heading into the 2026-27 season.
