MIAMI — The Miami Heat will broadcast all non-nationally televised games on free, over-the-air television for the 2026-27 season under an expanded media rights agreement with WPLG Local 10, the team announced.
The deal, which takes effect in October, gives millions of South Florida viewers access to Heat games without a cable or satellite subscription — a significant shift from the 2025-26 season, when Local 10 simulcast just 12 Heat games. That limited run produced increased viewership that both sides said drove the expansion to a full-season commitment.
“We’re very excited to be on Local 10 this upcoming season,” said Michael McCullough, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of the Miami Heat. “Last season was a great experience not only for the HEAT and Local 10, but the fans as well. The increased viewership proved the strength of this partnership and the benefit of having the local reach of WPLG was unmistakable.”
McCullough added: “We’re looking forward to taking this to the next level this upcoming season and giving HEAT Nation a truly special viewing experience.”
Beyond the broadcast signal, Heat games will also stream on LOCAL 10 Plus Platinum, WPLG’s free streaming platform available on smartphones, tablets and smart TVs. The platform will carry additional Heat content and specials alongside live game coverage.
“We are thrilled to carry a complete season of Miami HEAT basketball for what should be a very exciting 2026-27 season,” said Bert Medina, WPLG president and CEO. “No matter where our viewers want to watch the Miami HEAT on cable, satellite, over-the-air antenna or our free streaming app, our mission is to make sure they have easy direct access to every game on our air.”
The partnership also extends beyond game broadcasts. During the 2025-26 season, Local 10 broadcast the 2026 Heat Gala Live from the Red Carpet, and the two sides plan additional programming for the coming season. The Heat and Local 10 will announce the full 2026-27 broadcast schedule following the NBA’s official schedule release later this summer.
