FORT LAUDERDALE — Inter Miami CF goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair and Orlando City goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau are among a record 44 MLS players named to 2026 FIFA World Cup rosters, the league announced, marking the largest contingent of active MLS talent ever selected for the tournament.
The 44 players represent 21 MLS clubs and 17 countries heading into the World Cup, which runs from June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Mexico and Canada. The United States and Canada each placed 8 players on rosters, combining for nearly 40% of the MLS call-ups.
St. Clair earned his spot on Canada’s roster, joining fellow Canadians Mathieu Choinière, Stephen Eustáquio and Jacob Shaffelburg of LAFC, Richie Laryea and Jonathan Osorio of Toronto FC, and Joel Waterman of Chicago Fire FC. Crépeau, also representing Canada, gives Orlando City a direct stake in the tournament being played partly on home soil.
The U.S. Men’s National Team drew heavily from MLS as well. Max Arfsten of Columbus Crew, Sebastian Berhalter of Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Chris Brady of Chicago Fire FC, Matt Freese of New York City FC, Tim Ream of Charlotte FC, Miles Robinson of FC Cincinnati, Cristian Roldan of Seattle Sounders FC and Matt Turner of New England Revolution all made the American squad.
Florida clubs account for at least 2 of the 21 MLS teams sending players to the tournament. Inter Miami CF and Orlando City are joined on the full club list by Atlanta United, Charlotte FC, Chicago Fire FC, FC Cincinnati, Colorado Rapids, Columbus Crew, FC Dallas, LAFC, Minnesota United FC, Nashville SC, New England Revolution, New York City FC, Philadelphia Union, Portland Timbers, Real Salt Lake, San Diego FC, Seattle Sounders FC, Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
The World Cup opens June 11, with matches scheduled across all three co-host nations through the July 19 final.
