ORLANDO — Orlando City SC traded homegrown defender Tahir Reid-Brown to St. Louis CITY SC in exchange for $150,000 in guaranteed 2027 General Allocation Money, with up to an additional $300,000 in conditional GAM tied to performance-based metrics, the club announced Wednesday.
Orlando City also retains a sell-on percentage in any future transfer of the 20-year-old Orlando native, who spent six years within the club’s development pathway before the deal.
“Tahir has been a valued part of our Club for many years, progressing through our Academy, Orlando City B and into the First Team. We’re proud of the work he’s put in throughout his development and grateful for the commitment he’s shown while representing Orlando City,” said Ricardo Moreira, Orlando City SC General Manager and Sporting Director. “Our goal in developing young players is to prepare them for the next level, whether that opportunity is with our club or elsewhere, while also positioning Orlando City for long-term success. We believe this move accomplishes both, and we wish Tahir all the best in this next chapter of his career.”
Reid-Brown joined the Orlando City Academy in 2020 and signed a First Team contract as the club’s 15th Homegrown player in January 2024. Across all competitions, he made nine appearances for Orlando City SC, making his First Team and Major League Soccer debut against Inter Miami CF on March 2, 2025, when he earned his first MLS start.
Before reaching the First Team, Reid-Brown logged 65 appearances across all competitions for Orlando City B, scoring two goals. He made his professional debut as a second-half substitute against Philadelphia Union II on March 26, 2023, and scored his first professional goal against Inter Miami CF II on April 15, 2025.
St. Louis CITY SC has not yet announced when Reid-Brown is expected to be available for selection.
