ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Magic named Cox Media Group as the team’s new over-the-air broadcast partner for the 2026-27 season, putting all regular season games not subject to national exclusives on WRDQ TV 27, with select games also airing on WFTV Channel 9.

“We are excited to partner with the Cox Media Group to serve as our over-the-air partner for live games, replays, pregame and postgame coverage, and original programming,” said Magic President of Business Operations Charlie Freeman. “WRDQ TV 27 and WFTV Channel 9 will provide Magic fans great access, strong consistency and a direct connection to the team all season long.”

WFTV/WRDQ VP/GM Darren Moore framed the deal as a boost for Central Florida viewers. “We are excited for this partnership which will make Magic basketball even more accessible to fans throughout Central Florida,” Moore said. “Combining the brands of Central Florida’s news leader and the Orlando Magic together will foster a commitment to delivering high-quality local sports programming and creating new avenues for fans to connect with the team.”

Dante Marchitelli will serve as the full-time play-by-play voice of the Magic, joined again by former Magic forward Jeff Turner as analyst. Kendra Douglas enters her fourth season as the team reporter. Broadcasts will be available throughout the Magic’s regional territory, with a complete station lineup and schedule to be announced later.

Cox Media Group reaches more than 60 million Americans weekly through 17 television brands in 9 markets and 45 radio stations in 9 markets. The Magic, Orlando’s NBA franchise since 1989, have won eight division championships — most recently in 2024 and 2025 — and captured the Eastern Conference title in 1995 and 2009. The team plays home games at the Kia Center, voted by fans No. 1 in the NBA for game experience and named SportsBusiness Journal’s Sports Facility of the Year, and practices at the AdventHealth Training Center.

Off the court, the franchise gives more than $2 million annually to the local community, with programs impacting an estimated 100,000 kids each year and staff logging more than 7,000 volunteer hours annually. The Orlando Magic Youth Foundation has distributed more than $31 million to local nonprofit organizations over the last 36 years. The organization’s other affiliates include the Osceola Magic, the team’s NBA G League affiliate and 2021 G League champions, and the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL.

The Magic said they will announce a direct-to-consumer streaming partner in the near future, a move that would give fans an additional option beyond the over-the-air broadcasts on WRDQ TV 27 and WFTV Channel 9 heading into the 2026-27 season.
