ORLANDO — The Orlando Magic signed University of South Florida standout Izaiyah Nelson and re-signed center Colin Castleton to two-way contracts, President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman announced.

Nelson, a 6-foot-10, 218-pound center, was selected by Washington in the second round (51st overall) of the 2026 NBA Draft. Orlando acquired his draft rights as part of a three-team trade with the Washington Wizards and Milwaukee Bucks on June 24. Per team policy, terms of neither deal were disclosed.

The 22-year-old Nelson swept the American Athletic Conference’s top individual honors last season, earning Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year after transferring from Arkansas State. He played and started all 34 games for USF, averaging 15.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.65 steals and 1.41 blocks in 27.2 minutes while shooting .561 from the field. Nelson logged 18 double-doubles — ninth in the nation — and ranked 16th in NCAA Division I in rebounding. He led the Bulls to the American Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles and the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2012.

Across 135 career college games at Arkansas State (2022-25) and USF (2025-26), Nelson averaged 10.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.53 blocks while shooting .580 from the floor. He was named to the All-Sun Belt Third Team in 2024-25. Nelson will wear No. 25 for Orlando.

Castleton (6-11, 250) appeared in four games with Orlando last season, averaging 1.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 5.3 minutes. He was far more productive with the Osceola Magic in the NBA G League, averaging 17.6 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.17 blocks in 18 regular season outings — 16 of them starts — while shooting .565 from the floor in 28.4 minutes per game.

The former University of Florida standout went undrafted but has appeared in 46 career NBA regular season games with the L.A. Lakers, Memphis, Toronto, Philadelphia and Orlando, averaging 3.3 points and 3.1 rebounds in 11.1 minutes. During five college seasons split between Michigan (2018-20) and Florida (2020-23), Castleton played 122 games, averaging 10.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.73 blocks. He led the SEC in blocked shots during his 2022-23 graduate season and earned All-SEC First Team honors from coaches that year. Castleton wears No. 14.

Both players are expected to split time between Orlando’s NBA roster and the Osceola Magic in the G League during the upcoming season.
