LAS VEGAS — Lester Quinones scored 30 points and the Orlando Magic erased a 15-point first-half deficit to beat the Portland Trail Blazers 112-105 in overtime in NBA Summer League action, with Phillip Wheeler and Alex Morales each hitting clutch 3-pointers in the extra session.

Orlando played without Jase Richardson and Noah Penda, putting the offensive burden squarely on Quinones, who responded with an all-around performance that included creating shots off the dribble and collapsing defenses to set up teammates. The 3-pointer by Morales that put Orlando up six with 47 seconds left in overtime came after Quinones drove into the paint and kicked the ball to the perimeter. The Magic shot 55 percent from the field and 48 percent from 3-point range.

“There was just a switch in our energy. Whether you are watching in person, on tv, or on the sidelines, you can see when that shift happened. Defensively, we kind of just decided to emphasize bringing energy and playing harder than them. I feel like that third-quarter stint, right when we were pressuring them a little bit, you can just feel the shift of the game,” Quinones said of overcoming the deficit.

Colin Castleton, one of the Magic’s three two-way contract players, delivered 21 points on 10-of-16 shooting, seven rebounds, two assists and one block. His pass out of the post with two defenders surrounding him set up Wheeler’s go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:46 left in overtime. Keon Johnson, a former first-round NBA Draft pick, buried a pair of game-tying free throws with six seconds left in regulation to force the extra period.

The win came at a cost. Izaiyah Nelson, the Magic’s two-way contract player selected 51st overall in the 2026 NBA Draft, suffered a sprained left ankle in the second quarter after a chasedown block on Quincy Olivari. On his way down, his left foot landed on the face of teammate Tyty Washington Jr., who was on the floor after trying to take a charge. Nelson left the game and is listed as day-to-day, with his return to summer league action dependent on how he responds to treatment.
