LAS VEGAS — Noah Penda delivered two blocks in the final minute Saturday afternoon as the Orlando Magic held off the Miami Heat 93-88 in NBA Summer League action, with Jase Richardson, Colin Castleton and Lester Quinones each scoring 15 points in a balanced offensive effort.

Orlando trailed for most of the first half before outscoring Miami by 15 in the third quarter to seize control. Penda’s first block came with the Magic up three with 46 seconds left, when the 6-foot-7 forward chased down Tre White in transition after a turnover and swatted his shot. After Vladislav Goldin blocked Keon Johnson’s floater on the next possession, Penda rose to reject Goldin’s dunk attempt with 15 seconds remaining to seal the win.

“It’s really encouraging guys to be two-way players. It’s hard to score your way into the NBA, to score your way into playing time,” Magic summer league head coach D.J. Bakker said of Penda. “(It’s about) knowing that there are two sides of the basketball. Having that individual pride. I think I’ve talked earlier on about he wants the matchups. With him, he’s obviously very versatile, being able to switch and guard guards, switch onto the bigs like we saw.”

Trevor Keels led the Heat with 32 points and Jahmir Young added 27, but Young’s potential game-tying 3-pointer on Miami’s final possession was disrupted by rookie Izaiyah Nelson, the 51st pick in last month’s NBA Draft and a two-way contract player. Nelson posted a team-best plus-12 in the game, continuing a pattern from his college career at Arkansas State and South Florida, where his teams consistently outscored opponents with him on the court.

Castleton and Quinones showcased the form that powered the Osceola Magic to the G League’s No. 1 overall playoff seed in 2025-26 with a 26-10 regular season record. The 6-foot-10 Castleton, a two-way contract player who averaged 17.4 points and 10.8 rebounds across 18 G League games, went 5-for-8 from the field and 1-for-2 from three. The 6-foot-5 Quinones, who averaged a team-best 22.9 points across 36 games and set the Osceola franchise’s G League record for most 3-pointers in a single season, shot 6-for-10 overall and 2-for-5 from downtown.

Orlando continues its Summer League schedule in Las Vegas, where the Magic will look to build on the defensive identity Bakker has emphasized through the early games.
