TAMPA — The Orlando Magic will broadcast nearly every regular season game over-the-air on WMOR-TV Channel 32 in Tampa-St. Petersburg during the 2026-27 season, a dramatic expansion from the 10-game agreement the team and station had last season.
The deal gives the Magic a full-season presence in the country’s 11th largest television market. All regular season games, excluding national exclusives, will air on the Hearst Television-owned station.
“We are excited to partner with WMOR-TV and Hearst to bring Magic basketball to our Tampa fans,” said Magic President of Business Operations Charlie Freeman. He added that “WMOR-TV will provide Magic fans a direct connection to the team all season long.”
WMOR-TV President and General Manager John Soapes called the expanded deal a reflection of shared priorities. “We’re thrilled to grow our relationship with the Magic and to expand accessibility to Magic basketball across Central Florida,” Soapes said. “This partnership reflects a shared commitment to delivering high-quality local sports programming and creating new opportunities for fans to connect with their team.”
Dante Marchitelli will serve as the full-time play-by-play voice, joined by former Magic forward Jeff Turner as analyst. Kendra Douglas enters her fourth season as the Magic team reporter. Magic broadcasts will also be available throughout the team’s regional territory.
The franchise, Orlando’s NBA team since 1989, has won eight division championships — including back-to-back titles in 2024 and 2025 — and plays home games at the Kia Center, voted by fans No. 1 in the NBA for game experience and named SportsBusiness Journal’s Sports Facility of the Year. The Magic practice at the AdventHealth Training Center. The organization’s other entities include the Osceola Magic, the team’s NBA G League affiliate and 2021 G League champions, and the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL, affiliate to the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning.
Off the court, the Magic contribute more than $2 million annually to the local community, with community relations programs reaching an estimated 100,000 kids each year and staff logging more than 7,000 volunteer hours annually. The Orlando Magic Youth Foundation has distributed more than $31 million to local nonprofit organizations over the last 36 years. The Sports Business Journal recognized the Magic as one of the “Best Places to Work” in sports in 2023 and 2024.
Hearst Television, WMOR-TV’s parent company, owns and operates 35 television and two radio stations serving 27 media markets across 39 states, reaching 24 million U.S. television households and distributing content over more than 120 video channels. A complete station lineup and broadcast schedule will be announced at a later date, and the Magic said they will also announce a direct-to-consumer streaming partner in the near future.
