Mandolyn Ann Shaffer-Brockwell, 37, of Orlando, was arrested after allegedly attacking a pregnant woman and an elderly bystander during a road rage incident near the Mall of Millenia. The incident occurred Feb. 23 and was captured on video, according to the Orlando Police Department. Shaffer-Brockwell faces charges of battery of a person 65 years or older, aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer, burglary of a conveyance with assault/battery, and resisting an officer with violence.

The pregnant victim told authorities Shaffer-Brockwell “kept stopping her vehicle short distances in front of her,” prompting her to honk and attempt to change lanes to get away. Video footage released by the Orlando Police Department showed Shaffer-Brockwell exiting her vehicle, running toward the pregnant woman’s car, jumping on the hood, and forcefully opening the driver’s side door before allegedly hitting and punching the woman in the face. The pregnant woman told police she had a child in the car during the incident.

“Honk at me again, (expletive),” Shaffer-Brockwell allegedly told the pregnant woman during the attack. When an elderly woman witnessed the fight and got out of her car to help, Shaffer-Brockwell allegedly turned on her as well. “Get back in your (expletive) car,” Shaffer-Brockwell told the elderly woman before scratching and hitting her in the face, according to the police report.

Police shared a photo of the elderly woman’s face showing apparent bruising and scratches below one of her eyes. One of the victims provided a description of Shaffer-Brockwell and her vehicle, allowing an officer to quickly locate her. However, when the officer attempted to detain her, she refused to comply and violently resisted arrest.

Shaffer-Brockwell could be heard on video repeatedly cursing at the officer before biting his wrist while trying to avoid being handcuffed. “Don’t bite me,” the officer said during the struggle. “Get the f— off of me,” Shaffer-Brockwell shouted back at the officer. She was eventually arrested and taken into custody by the Orlando Police Department.
