LAS VEGAS — Seven players from the Osceola Magic, Orlando’s G League affiliate, are competing on the parent club’s Summer League roster, with center Colin Castleton and record-setting shooter Lester Quinones leading a group that has already turned heads in the desert.
Castleton, described by Osceola head coach Dylan Murphy last season as “one of the most physical, professional and focused players he’s ever coached,” has expanded his offensive game noticeably. The big man is 3-for-6 from 3-point range at Summer League after attempting just 13 threes across 23 games with Osceola last season. He has slimmed down without losing strength and delivered a critical overtime pass in Orlando’s win over Portland.
Quinones set the franchise’s single-season record for 3-pointers, knocking down 135 during the regular season and 42 during the tip-off tournament. The 6-foot-5, 208-pound guard previously spent two seasons alongside Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in Golden State. While his shot creation translates well at the G League level and in Summer League, his NBA path likely hinges on efficiency from deep and defensive commitment.
Swingman Alex Morales, a 6-foot-6 product of Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Maryland, and Wagner College in Staten Island, New York, earned a two-way contract from the Magic during last season based largely on his defensive impact. Morales recorded eight deflections in Orlando’s Summer League win against the Blazers and has tallied 14 deflections across three games in Las Vegas.
Phillip Wheeler, a 6-foot-8 forward from Rumson, New Jersey, bypassed college to play professionally in Italy, Puerto Rico and Argentina before returning to the G League. He earned a 10-day contract with the Philadelphia 76ers in the spring of 2025 and has flashed elite athleticism and corner 3-point shooting in Las Vegas.
Johnell Davis, who helped Florida Atlantic reach the Final Four — posting 29 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and five steals in a second-round win over Fairleigh Dickinson — signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Magic in 2025 and averaged 13 minutes per game with Osceola. Center Will Baker, a 6-foot-11 lefty who averaged 9.5 points and 6.2 rebounds across 43 games with Osceola, and point guard Ace Baldwin Jr., a 6-foot-1 defensive specialist who led the Big Ten in steals per game in both the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons at VCU and Penn State, round out the Osceola contingent. Baldwin appeared in 28 games for Osceola last season, shooting 37 percent from the field and 21 percent from 3-point range.
Orlando’s Summer League schedule continues in Las Vegas, where the seven Osceola players will look to press their cases for expanded roles with the parent club heading into the 2025-26 NBA season.
