NORFOLK, Va. — Tampa Bay Rays No. 2 prospect Brody Hopkins delivered five no-hit innings with nine strikeouts in his first professional relief appearance, closing out Triple-A Durham’s 7-4 comeback win against Norfolk at Harbor Park.

Hopkins, a right-hander acquired from the Seattle Mariners in July 2024 in the Randy Arozarena trade, generated 15 whiffs — the most by any Triple-A pitcher Friday. After pitching to a 5.32 ERA in April, Hopkins has posted a 1.77 ERA in May and held batters to a .188 average this season. He walked just one batter Friday after issuing 42 walks in 43 innings as a starter.
