FORT LAUDERDALE — Scotland’s national team returned to Inter Miami CF Stadium on Tuesday morning for a final training session before facing Brazil in a decisive Group C match at the FIFA World Cup 2026, with the European side needing a positive result to keep alive its hopes of advancing to the Round of 32.
Scotland sits third in Group C with three points after recording a win and a draw in its opening two matches. The session marked the team’s second stint at Inter Miami’s facilities after using the Florida Blue Training Center as a pre-tournament training camp.
Scotland manager Steven Clarke praised the Fort Lauderdale complex during the team’s earlier visit. “[The Florida Blue Training Center] is top-class. Obviously, we came over and took a look at the facility earlier in the year, we saw it and we wanted it. And then fortunately for us, it became available and with a little bit of help from certainly Mr. Beckham, who is an old adversary of mine, I played against him many, many years ago, we managed to get this facility. So, delighted,” Clarke said.
Inter Miami’s venues have served as official training sites for five nations competing in the tournament — Haiti, Turkey, Scotland, New Zealand and Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia trained at Inter Miami CF Stadium on June 14 before its Group H opener against Uruguay, which ended in a 1-1 draw. The national teams of Peru and Venezuela, representing two of South Florida’s largest communities, also played international friendlies at the club’s venues.
Haiti, appearing in its first World Cup in 52 years, delivered a 4-0 victory over New Zealand before a sold-out crowd at Inter Miami CF Stadium on June 2, then fell 2-1 to Peru on June 5 in the first-ever international friendly at Nu Stadium.
Nu Stadium will host its first concert on June 28, featuring Mexican singer and two-time Grammy winner Carín León performing “Lighter,” the tournament’s official lead single.
